I started karate when I was 5. I remember at the time, I tried it out and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue it. But the more I did it, I realised I really was into it. I stuck with it, always asking questions, helping lead classes, and always trying to improve myself.
The year of preparation before black belt is a long one. I had to attend at least 96 classes that year, run several events throughout the year, and go through ‘hell week’, before I could become a black belt. After 10 years of dedication and hard work I finally made it:
I didn’t stop there though. I continued on and 4 years later I earned my 2nd degree black belt:
I have taken a break from karate for now, but I still look back and admire my journey.
